         Accelerated Groundwater Recharge scheme

183, 52 , 22 & 90 numbers of rainwater harvesting structures were constructed during the year 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08
& 2008-09 respectively.  The budgetary provision of Rs 105.00 lac has been kept for the year 2009-10, work is under progress.

Management of Natural Resources (Groundwater)Scheme (State Plan)

This scheme was introduced in the year 2008-09 with the budgetry provision of Rs. 300 lacs and 25 numbers of Piezometric tubes were installed for strengthening the Grid observation points during the year 2008-09.  The budgetary provision of Rs 45.00 lacs has been kept for the year 2009-2010, work is under progress.

 Future strategies

Ø                  Propagation for change in cropping pattern from more water intensive to less water intensive crops.

Ø                  Propagation for conjunctive use of surface and ground water in highly saline areas.

Ø                  Propagation for water conservation devices viz Sprinkler/drip for judicious use of ground water.

Ø                  Artificial recharge in water declining areas

Ø                  Educating drillers/farmers for installation of tubewells on scientific lines.

Ø                  Introduction of Ground water legislation to regulate and control the development of ground water.
